Gushi is a 357 g raw pu-erh cake pressed in 2013 from Ban Zhang ancient-tree material, with an inner identification ticket embedded in the cake.

Origin and material

More than a decade of ageing has softened the sharper edges while preserving the material’s firm structure and mountain character.

How it tastes

The liquor is layered and energetic, moving from a firm opening into forceful returning sweetness, persistent salivation and increasingly smooth later infusions.

Brewing guide

  • Water: 95–100°C
  • Tea: 8–10 g per 500 ml
  • First infusion: 8–12 seconds, then adjust
  • Shorten or extend later infusions to suit the leaf and your taste.
